Planner Task Link Attachment To OneNote Page 'Invalid'

Good Morning,

Has anyone experienced an issue with the Task Attachment Links to OneNote becoming 'invalid urls'?  I have several Teams that have Planners and OneNote notebooks.  I typically have added a link on individual tasks to individual pages in the OneNote notebook for the Team/Planner group.  A few days ago, I noticed these links were still taking me to the OneNote notebook but not to the page...they were taking me to the first section first page only.

When editing the link anything to a page is considered an invalid url now.

Hi All,

Thanks for all your feedback! We have involved more resources to check this issue and will share the updates once available. Here I would like to provide a summary so that other community members can easily identify the symptoms.

Symptoms:

When we go to Planner task > add attachment > Link > Add the link, we will get error message “Please enter a valid url” if the link including symbols like & ! ^ * “”

Assessment:

More resources have been involved to check this issue. We will post back when there is any update.

    Still not fixed, but I have a workaround that seems to be working for us.

    1. Copy the URL from OneNote as normal.
    2. Paste it into Notepad or any pure text editor. Do not use Word, Excel, or OneNote itself.
    3. You will have two URLs. One with HTTPS: and one with onenote:https://:
    4. Copy just the first one with HTTPS and paste that into Planner.

    So far that works. Now I think what broke in Planner is it wasn't getting those two URLs and discarding the one it didn't need. OneNote does that so if you paste it into a Windows app, like Excel, it will use the onenote: link which will open locally on your PC when you click it. The other, of course, is for the web link, which Planner needs.

    Yeah, I have the same problem since a few days.

    I usually like to include links in Planner to email-conversations in our team-group-account for a reference.

    But that suddenly doesn't work anymore

    I just try to copy the link to an email-conversation and paste it in the adress dialog

    Result: "Please enter a valid url"

    Hi IT 27118,

    According to your description, you add the link of a task in planner (https://tasks.office.com) to a section in OneNote and when you click the link, it doesn't take you to the task in browser but just jumps to the first section of the notebook.

    If I misunderstand anything, please correct me.

    I have test from my side and the task link takes me to the task correctly.

    To better understand your situation and provide help for you, please help confirm some information:

    1. What are your Office product name and full version number? You can capture a screenshot refer to this article: What version of Office am I using?
    2. Could you please capture some screenshot of where the link locates and where the link takes you to if you click the link?
    3. What will happen if you copy and paste the link to browser to access it?
