Hi. I have exactly the same problem.
For examplee, I have a background graphic that has transparency setting 80%. When saving as PDF document, the background looks grey instead of white.

Thank you for letting us know that the issue is resolved. For everyone else, you can update your MacOS to the latest version which is 10.14.4 to get the fix:

It's been weeks now and the issue is still here... was fast to come (in just one MS update), long to solve.
We would appreciate a quick fix anytime soon please.

Not to make matters worse, but Apple uses the printer drive to save as PDF, so there's yet another variable to throw into the mix. You could get different results simply by choosing a different default printer.
