Hi, never really posted in one of these things before I this is sort of an emergency, I have an important document due in a few days for uni and all was going good until I encounter the error 'the name in the end tag of the element must match the element type in the start tag' which is preventing me from opening my document.
Naturally when I encounter this error I googled and attempted many fixes and have been attempting to edit the document.xml file for around 4 hours now to no avail.
I would greatly appreciate some help in how to overcome this error, I've linked a google drive folder with both the entire word document as a .rar file and the document.xml file as well as a screenshot of the error below.
I really don't know how to use this site but any help would be appreciated tremendously due to the importance of me resolving this error quickly.
Thanks in advnaced for any help anyone can offer
:)

If the document is not too large to attach to an email message, send me a copy of it that way, referencing this thread in the covering email message and I will see if I can recover your document.
Alternatively, upload a copy of the document to the following folder of my OneDrive
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AmuIXmFDy-1a8nP3RpgnYHp-5zXK
and send me an email to the address shown in my signature to let me know that it is there.
Excuse me Doug i have a similar problem..can you help me please ?
A repaired copy of your document has been uploaded to the following folder of my OneDrive

or
Let me know when you have retrieved it so that I can delete it from that folder.
The error in the docuemnt was caused by what I refer to as a "compound image" on page 39
I refer to an image as a "compound image" when it is made up of a number of components overlaid, one upon another. I recommend that such compound images are compiled in a separate document and then a screen capture utility such as Snagit from www.techsmith.com is used to create a single "flat" image, which you then insert into your document, preferrably with its layout set to in-line with text. The separate document should be retained in case it is found necessary to make adjustments\amendments to the image.
There are numerouse other instances of "compound images" in your document. such as
and I would suggest that they be replaced by following the above procedure as it will not only reduce the size of the document by a significant margin, but it will also make the document far less likely to become corrupted with mis-matched xml tag errors
Not sure if I need to reply to another message to get Doug tagged in this, so apologies for the duplicate
