Since the recent Office 2016 updates we have a number of users having an issue with scrolling through emails in Outlook.
Here's what happens;
User opens an email (or replies to an email).
Then the user tries to scroll to the top of the inbox (sorted by date order for example).
After dragging the scroll bar up to the top (via wheel or left click), the scroll bar jumps back down to show the 'active' email in the centre. Basically it keeps the view pane showing the last 'active' email in view.
There's no way of cancelling the active email. The users have to keep clicking higher up the list, or press 'Home' on the keyboard to get to the top.
We have re-installed/repaired 2016 install on multiple machines and it's only been happening since the recent updates.
How do we resolve this? I'm thinking it's a new feature but it's causing a lot of issues.

Correct Luke, no patches are needed. The change is purely on the service side. Outlook will pick up the change from the service and react to it.
Gabriel,
Our environment is also running the Current Channel and we have seen the issue since the June 7th update. The August 8th Deferred Channel notes the fix is applied, but the Current Channel update notes do not advise of it being fixed on June 7th or in the most recent batch of updates. The majority of our users are on 1707 (Build 8326.2059) and I am still getting reports.
The original scrolling bug is fixed in 1705 FRDC and all other channels except Deferred. The FRDC fix only came in the last couple weeks. Make sure you are on version 16.0.8201.2162 or higher. The current FRDC is 8201.2171.
If you can get a reliable repro with steps I can follow let me know and I will see if I can reproduce it.
This page shows the versions on each channel, https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Version-and-build-numbers-of-update-channel-releases-ae942449-1fca-4484-898b-a933ea23def7?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US.
Deferred Channel is expected to get the fix in September. If you need to address the issue before then you can use this KB to switch to Current Channel, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3185078/how-to-switch-from-deferred-channel-to-current-channel-for-the-office.
I'm on 1st release deferred 1705 and still experience the same issue as Jeff. Random issues scrolling through email view especially when doing a search. Makes it very difficult to use. 1705 was supposedly the version that fixed the problem, and this thread seems to indicate that this issue has been fixed multiple times, both on the service side and from version update. Are you now saying that 1707 has the fix?
