Office 365 cloud features do not work when using a privacy VPN

I'd like to support JayTech55 on this point. All he is saying is that the same "solutions" keep reappearing - it's a very long thread over a long period of time, and none of them permanently fix the problem, although they may work for a short while. He recognizes that people pay for NordVPN, but he is also stating that the effort to get NordVPN working as it should requires a lot of time and testing with often unsatisfactory results. As someone who is running a business, as he is, his point is that the benefit of switching to a provider without the issues this thread is trying to resolve is greater than the cost of switching away from NordVPN. He's giving advice based on his experience and use case. He's recommending that people save time and frustration in order for them to work more efficiently by considering a different provider.

Why even post thst response? Has it crossed your mind thst people may have invested in a particular VPN, experienced problems and then arrived at this site looking for answers.

Pure logic suggests that people would ONLY arrive to this site when they have bought a VPN and experienced problems, which completely invalidates your point.

in the future, either try to help people or don’t bother to post such pompous hubris- redolent posts.

And to add to my prior post directly above, PrivateInternetAccess may be fine as well, as suggested a few posts up by another poster. I haven't tested it enough to know myself.

But why the determination to be staying with NordVPN when it seems to be the most notorious for having problems with Office 365 for a lot of people? I know it has a great reputation and is fine for plenty of people -- it's the one I myself chose after tons of research and I used it for a long time until I went from Office 2010 standalone apps to Office 365 and everything broke. I mean, if it's not working with Office 365 why go crazy wrestling with it (unless you have a prepaid annual subscription) when the others seem to work fine with perhaps one or two settings adjustments (TCP apparently being the main one if not the only one needed)? (With HotSpot Shield, no adjustments are needed.)

I'm saying all this because as soon as I went to Office 365 I lost almost two weeks without sleep and had a huge setback in my business while trying to make NordVPN work and then trying to find anything else that would work. It ended up taking almost a month. I'm just trying to help save others from that kind of fate.

I have no involvement, interest, connection, relationship, investment, or communication whatsoever with any of the VPN providers mentioned or any other aspect of the industry, other than being a customer with a minimal monthly subscription and having asked their tech support people for help at times.

Why are people going through all this and sticking with NordVPN when I and others have reported that HotSpot Shiedl works flawlessly and I have also reported that CyberGhost also works flawlessly for me as well using the basic choices of settings that I've specified earlier in this thread (and that ExpressVPN seemed to as well except for one time when it may have been a fluke that had nothing to do with Express VPN)?

I have been struggling with this for while. It seems now to work using the open vpn client. You can download the open vpn server profiles from nord vpn. Once you got the file open it in notepad and add

dhcp-option DNS 8.8.8.8

dhcp-option DNS 8.8.4.4

Before <ca>

You can easily toggle these lines on and off using # at the beginning of the line. Of course you can also use another DNS server instead of the Google dns.
