Our users are getting a question mark next to Office 365 profile picture.

What does this question mark means?

Hi Everyone,

Our engineering team is still working on this issue. As I know, the feature of “green question mark” wasn’t fully deployed to all the tenant yet. Currently, we don’t have an ETA for fixing this. Furthermore, once you login to IM in Office 365 OWA or Skype For Business client, there is no problem for others to check your status.

I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue again, and do appreciate your patience and understanding.

Best Regards,

Edward

    Hi JonAlbright,

About “Whether or not any of our users are logged in to ****, the green question mark remains.”, could you upload some related screenshots for our confirmation? We should confirm if you are experiencing the same issue.

If you are talking about another issue, I suggest you post a new thread on our forum as it will help the community members who encountered the same issue find the solution and share their suggestions quickly.

    Thanks,

    Cliff

It doesn't change for any of us Rena.  Whether or not any of our users are logged in to ****, the green question mark remains.  This was never an issue over the past year so IMHO, your developers made a boo boo with an update we didn't ask for.

    Hi Ari,

The question mark is the new Skype for Business presence indicator. It indicates that Skype for Business presence status is unknown (so either the user isn’t logged in to Skype for Business or we can’t get the presence information for some reason). If the customer has Skype for Business and they log in, they will see the indicator change.

Additionally, if they are logged in to Skype for Business, they can change their presence by clicking on their name/photo and changing the presence status (or they can do this in Skype for Business client).

    Thanks,

    Rena
