OneNote 2016 Application issue with "Quick Notes" stuck loading

Hi Guys,

Every time I try to access my "Quick Notes" this is what I get. It stays stuck there forever. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi everyone,

Some news - a fix for this issue has been released with update 16.0.7466.2038 or later for OneNote 2016 for Windows desktop. To download the update right away, open any Office app and click File > Account > Update Options >

Update Now.

If you can confirm the updated resolved the issue for you by replying back to this thread, it would be very helpful for the Office team and everyone here.

Hi everyone,

OneNote team had finished the investigation of this issue. There will be a updated version of OneNote 2016 that contains solution to this.     Hi Carlos,

     This is Kentaro, another member of OneNote team. We're sorry for not being able to provide resolution to your issue to this point.

     Since the problem come back after you close and reopen the notebook that contains the problematic section, it is likely there's some problematic data in your quick note section.

    I have a few more question to improve my understanding of your problem, hopefully you don't mind answering.

    1. When OneNote becomes "stuck" after going to your problematic "Quick Notes" notebook, are you still able to interact with the application (such as go to some other notebook, or click on "File" tab to let get Notebook Information?
    2. Are you able to see the problematic section from browser version of OneNote?
    3. How many sections do you have in the Quick Notes notebook? If there's only one, it might be worth trying to create a section from the browser version of OneNote and see if the OneNote application on Windows is able to sync it and show.
    4. In the screen shot you originally attached, I don't see a tab with plus '+' sign where you would normally see the sections. Were the quick note section editable on the OneNote application that you are now experiencing problem?

    This is it for now. Your answer to these question would help narrow down the scope of investigation.

    Thank You for your posting. I followed your method and restarted  One Note. Quick notes loaded normally. Thanks for saving me a tonne of time and the frustration when everything else had failed.
