Unable to delete Word file in an Android Device

Hi, you downloaded or created the file on another device and must use that one to  delete it first. The same thing happens to me with my Samsung tablet. I downloaded the file originally on my desktop computer, the files  in my word mostly pdf were then synced.  Hope this helps.

I am not sure, if I am right, but I have seen the same behaviour with pdf files and Acrobat. I wonder why there is no information out there on this. Even MS doesn't care to answer this question here.

The only way I have found out to do it is to go into Word, go to settings and then reset.  It erases all documents, which is annoying if you only want to erase certain ones.

1. Since we, with the help of Android can't find the file, and only WORD can, there is no way to tell where in the device and in what form the file is stored.
2. I suspect it is not in the cloud, since after I turn off all internet connections, it is still accessible by WORD.
3. If after removing from WORD's own list, I can in no way access the file again, I guess, unless we lose our device and the FBI finds it, it should allay your fears of security.

Try an experiment.

1. Down load an attached harmless file from your email.
2. Try this out and see.
3. You can also save an editable copy.
4. This copy will then be accessed android.
5. You can then move it to your SD card.

Remove it from your WORD list.

It will now be in your hand, you can move it anywhere you want. But WORD will then

not permit editing. 

MS is acting too smart. Never give your device to MS or the FBI.

Way too complicated to waste my time on.  There is no reason it has to be that hard to purge a file from my system.  This is the fault of Microsoft and they need to fix it.
