When I try to activate Office after I upgraded to Windows 10 I receive this error: We are sorry ,something went wrong and we can't do this for you right now. please try again later (0X8004FC12). How can I get past this?

    Step three did the trick, thanks.  What took Microsoft all day NOT to fix, was sorted with this approach.  Microsoft need to get some customer service training and not leave customers hanging on the line for over an hour and 15 minutes!

    I have also contacted Microsoft twice and each time the Tech left me with no result. I have tried every suggestion noted on the forum. My work IT Department say the problem is not with anything on my laptop but with Microsoft.

    I have been on to Microsoft for the whole day.  Remote access failed, two re installs failed, online repair taking eons.  Left holding on one call for 35 minutes; another for 1 hour 15 minutes.  Not good enough Microsoft.

    Thank you very much for the support

    It was my Norton firewall that was the problem. I advise everyone with this problem to try disabling temporarily their antivirus firewall and smart protection etc
