Visual Basic Support in Mac 2016

Hi

Am I missing something? I've been periodically using the Excel 2016 for Mac updates but quickly abandoned them because my sheets rely so heavily on VBA and support for that seemed to be missing. 

I've updatd to the production version today (15.2)...and it still seems to be the case? The Visual Basic editor is..ahem...extremely basic with no menus, right click functions or anything. No ability to insert new modules either. Shortcuts don't work (breakpoint, run etc). 

What's going on? Is this it? Please tell me there's some security setting i need to switch or something...please tell me there's basically no way to create macros enabled spreadsheets in Office for Mac 2016?

Hi Roberto,

You're not missing anything. UserForm support is being built right now and should be available in a few weeks. I don't expect userform support to arrive during the holidays, but I hope we have it before spring.

Thanks Gordon for the answer. I will wait after the holidays the microsoft present for christmas.

    Thanks for the info Jim.  This is not surprising.  The VBA editor currently is obviously a placeholder lacking any decent level of functionality.  It is also easy for MS to see a slow but continuing enterprise migration to a mixed OS world.  This is very obvious in my work environment at a large multinational.  Macs are very common now in many areas.

    I continue to find the combo of Parallels and Windows Office to be a highly acceptable solution albeit with the additional software cost of purchasing Parallels.  I was surprised to find the speed to be comparable or better than running Windows/VBA on a high end PC.

    Microsoft is now working on building a new VB Editor to replace the defective piece of garbage they supplied with Office 2016. ETA has not been announced.

    Wow, I just spent friday night and 1/2 day saturday trying to figure  out bugs, when there is non, the software lacks the capability... I wish there was a disclaimer stating that the "Mac" version does not contain all the features as the Office version. This would have saved me stress and I would have had my weekend back!! Thanks

    Thanks Jim.  Really appreciate the update on this.  For now, I have "patched" the lack of capability by running Windows Office under Parallels on my Mac at least at work.  With Office 2016, I lost significant capability for VBA on my home Macbook.  Relative to the Windows version of Office, I was never all that impressed with Office 2011 for Mac VBA editing capabilities (although much better than Office 2016 for sure).  

    I work in a large corporation.  We are corporately a large customer of MS.  I was just in a parallel discussion here about lack of cross-OS, cross browser compatibility in MS Sharepoint too.  I see this as a recurring theme of not being truly committed to the cross-platform world we live in today.  We haven't even discussed iOS yet...
