Visual Basic Support in Mac 2016

Hi

Am I missing something? I've been periodically using the Excel 2016 for Mac updates but quickly abandoned them because my sheets rely so heavily on VBA and support for that seemed to be missing. 

I've updatd to the production version today (15.2)...and it still seems to be the case? The Visual Basic editor is..ahem...extremely basic with no menus, right click functions or anything. No ability to insert new modules either. Shortcuts don't work (breakpoint, run etc). 

What's going on? Is this it? Please tell me there's some security setting i need to switch or something...please tell me there's basically no way to create macros enabled spreadsheets in Office for Mac 2016?

Hi Roberto,

You're not missing anything. UserForm support is being built right now and should be available in a few weeks. I don't expect userform support to arrive during the holidays, but I hope we have it before spring.

Thanks Gordon for the answer. I will wait after the holidays the microsoft present for christmas.

    Just a couple notes to update this Q&A thread.

    The VB Editor still sucks. Still no Find capability. Still no ability to work with userforms. Since this thread started two significant capabilities have been added. You can now add a new code module by right-clicking on a project name. You can now set references.

    Microsoft has stated that they will be porting the VB Editor from Office 2011 to Office 2016 for Mac. Personally, I expect this to take years, so don't get too excited about it.

    Ron DeBruin continues to be the best source for working with macros in Office 2016 for Mac.

    What a mistake I made!  I deleted Office 2011 before installing 2016.  The missing VBA development enviroment makes this product useless for me and my customers. 

    If you still have your original License Code. You can still load 2011 (and update through to version 14.6.2).  Even if I get a New Computer I will keep 2011 until the wheels fall off.

    There are some Great features in 2016 that are not in 2011. I would suggest anytime you need to add VBA, I would and Macros I would open up 2011 then when finished, quit and reopen in 2016 Or rather Start your Project in 2011 then switch to 2016 to add features and details not available in 2011. 

    If we could persuade Corel to bring the WordPerfect Suite to Mac. Maybe Microsoft would sit up and take notice.

    I agree, the only feature that ensured I stayed with Microsoft Office was the macro facilities. Now that Microsoft have decided not to support them I'll return to LibreOffice .
