Disappearing Ink problem in OneNote 2016 + Surface Pro 3

Hi,

I just upgraded to Office 2016 via the Office 365 subscription. Working on a Surface Pro 3 and Windows 10. I am mostly using OneNote 2016 to take handwritten notes using the Surface Pen.

The disappearing ink issue, (that was a problem in the OneNote 2013 edition, until it was fixed), seems to be back: parts of written stuff disappear. I was writing in OneNote 2016, and out of nowhere, parts of what I had written earlier disappeared. Though the issue is not as severe as it was earlier, when the disappearing was very frequent.

This needs to be fixed ASAP, it renders OneNote not very useful for note-taking!

Extremely frustrated with disappearing ink problem in One Note 2016 on Surface Pro 3.  Sustained handwriting disappears.  When writing long words or scribbling continuously (without lifting pen from pad) for a 15-count, word or drawing disappears.   This time length is very consistent, and will also occur with shorter words/smaller drawings.  Ink seems to disappear when autosave occurs?  Pen mode changes to a type cursor when this happens; pen mode then returns and the problem recurs.

Have tried all setting changes mentioned in this thread - except for going back to ON 2013 - to no avail.  Notebooks are all saved locally, not synced to One Drive.   Occurs whether on wifi or not.  It seems to have only been noticeable for the past month or so.

    Any advice would be welcomed.

Same here.  Purchased a new Surface Pro 4 and using Office365/OneNote 2016 Desktop.  This is very disappointing.

It is also happening to me. I cannot write anything because random chunks of writing will go away. This seems to be happening as early as 2011, how is it possible that this is happening?

I am using a Lenovo Yoga X1. And it happens to me in the OneNote app, not OneNote 2016. Is there something I can do? How many more hours am I supposed to spend in forums looking for solutions...

Encountered a variation of this problem today: ink disappears while I'm writing, then reappears as soon as I lift the pen.

This happens on both my Lenovo Yoga S1 tablet PC, and my desktop computer with an external Wacom tablet.

I am new to surface and purchased the Surface Pro 4 basically for the express purpose of OneNote (desktop) and its note taking and audio recording features.  My system is new and completely up to date.  Why is this still happening?  I will write something as part of a chemical reaction mechanism, and when I'm near the end of a complicated one, random intermediates will disappear as I'm writing.  Also, the program crashes all the time while trying to record audio.  And sometimes when it does record audio, it's just an empty file of the same length....

WHY is this still happening?  After just having gotten this most high-end of tablets for this express purpose!?
