can't print envelopes in Word 2016

Dear Mr. Robbins,

Until the upgrade 16.0.6568.2025 to Office 365 last week I was able to print envelopes that are attached to documents by placing the cursor anywhere within the envelope text and specifying printing the current page. After that upgrade, I can only get the envelope to print with the proper envelope layout by selecting all of the envelope text, and printing the selection. If I try the original method only the recipient's address prints perpendicular the envelope. I tried all the suggestions on the pages starting at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office\_2016-word/cant-print-envelopes-in-word-2016/dad9bd27-0aca-428e-b0b3-82e6058f047e?page=1 and none were successful. In fact, my computer wouldn't accept the changes you suggested and restored the defaults in every case. This is not a problem with the printer, an Epson-850 series that I purchased at the end of 2014, as it worked perfectly until Microsoft upgraded Office 365. By the way, yesterday I downloaded the latest Epson driver for my printer and it didn't change the way it printed envelopes. Just today I installed another Office 365 update, 16.0.6568.2036 and it did not correct the problem. I can use the work-around that I discovered, but I think that Microsoft should fix the problem which the upgrades caused me and the rest of the customers who reported their various problems. When a printer works correctly until a Microsoft update is installed I think that the source of the problem is clear.

Yep, quite right Terence. It's a Word 201x; problem and nothing to do with Windows 10 (not in my case anyway).

Was having the same problem on my Windows 7 laptop running Word 2013.

Read your post, selected Devices and Printers, Manage Default Printers. Turned off "Change my Default Printer when I change Networks" by selecting "Always use the same printer..." instead and, hey presto, envelope addresses correctly aligned.

One other thing to check is that under File>Options>Advanced>Print, you do not have a check mark in the box for "Scale content for A4 or 8.5 x 11" paper sizes"

While there may be a number of people who have this issue, I am not one of them as in a test here with Word 2016 running under Windows 10, I had no problem printing an envelope to a Samsung Multi-function Laser Printer that is probably 7 or more years old and for which I installed the driver that it is now using under Windows 10 from the CD that originally came with the printer.
