When I navigate to https://portal.office.com, and try to login, the initial screen says "connected to Windows". When I attempt to click on my username, it does nothing. I then have to select use another account and type my username again.

I have the latest build of Windows 10 Enterprise and am using IE 11, with automatic logon only in intranet zone enabled.

    Hi Lynn,

Please try a different browser like Firefox or chrome. Try clearing the browser cache and reset the browser. Please ensure to take a backup of your Bookmarks before you reset the browser.

    Thanks,

    Srikant

The fix for me was to go to Settings > Accounts and remove my 'work or school account' from the list accounts at the bottom.  Not really sure what the benefit was to add my work account to the computer, but it seemed like a reasonable idea at the time.

I too am having this issue. I have been using the Edge InPrivate mode to skirt around the issue.

    LynnTowle2376:

Thanks for the reply. I see - I use MSFT account to sign into Win10 and have the same email address as Azure AD account - therefore, I suspected that the SSO was somehow "confused" because of this. Which obviously is not the case as your setup is very different...

The issue is quite frustrating - happened again twice to me today... Hopefully, someone can figure out what's causing this!

Directing me to use a different browser does not solve this issue, it's merely a workaround, and not a very good one as indicated in my post above, I'm using automatic login with IE 11. I've also already flushed the cache and reset IE.
