AAHHH! I just upgraded to PowerPoint for Mac, Office 2016, and I'm getting this same error. I spent a whole week on a presentation that I'm doing to tomorrow and almost all of my images have disappeared. THIS IS TERRIBLE! I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
'The image part with relationship ID rId2 was not found in the file'
Is there a fix for this?? Preferably before tomorrow morning? These are all images that I either created or pulled as screen shots. (All jpegs.)

Don't kid yourself. Open Source software has its share of bugs and problems, too.

This is why the enterprise software will be obsolete with next gen. MS suks!
As has already been stated, presentations that were affected by this bug must be re-created.
Any new presentation you make will not be affected by this problem if your software is up to date. To check your update level go to the PowerPoint menu and choose About PowerPoint. Your version should be 15.33 or newer.
