PowerPoint Mac 2016: The image part with relationship ID rId2 was not found in the file.

AAHHH! I just upgraded to PowerPoint for Mac, Office 2016, and I'm getting this same error. I spent a whole week on a presentation that I'm doing to tomorrow and almost all of my images have disappeared. THIS IS TERRIBLE! I'm not sure what I'm going to do. 

'The image part with relationship ID rId2 was not found in the file'

Is there a fix for this?? Preferably before tomorrow morning? These are all images that I either created or pulled as screen shots. (All jpegs.)

    I am still experiencing this issue with increased frequency. I have Office 365 and am current on updates.

    Happened to me again after having upgraded to 365 after the last time PowerPoint deleted all of my images, undoing days of work.

    You are supposed to install updates to fix this.

    If you have a corrupt presentation, you'll have to rebuild it from scratch. You will not have this problem in the future once you install updates. Here's how to install updates:

    Make sure your Mac has a working internet connection before checking for updates. Install Mac OS X updates followed by Office updates.

    Install Mac OS X updates first:

    To get Mac OS updates, go to the App store on your dock, and then click the Updates button to reveal available updates.

    Then Install Office Updates

    To get the update:

    1. Open any Office application:
    2. Make sure your Mac has a working internet connection
    3. Go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates
    4. Let AutoUpdate check for and install updates
    5. Restart your Mac

    This is almost 2 YEARS LATER and I'm having the same issue. Spent an entire day working on a presentation and all the images are gone. I've just spent the last 2 hours trying to find a solution. I updated all of my Microsoft tools, restarted my computer several times. And now I'm spending my time trying to piece back together my presentation and when I copy/paste slides from other presentations, THE PICTURES SILL WON'T SHOW UP. 

    What am I supposed to do to fix this? This is horrible. What if this happened on the day of my presentation? I would be in front of some of our most strategic clients and would have NOTHING to show for my 4-DAY PRESENTATION. This is unacceptable.
