Office 2016 uninstalls my Visio 2013

John, since it hasn't been repeated lately, MS has a "free upgrade" offer for owners of Visio/Project 2013 and Office 365 Business.  The offer expires at the end of this month.

Yay..today they finally sent me my link to Visio and Project 2016.

You do have to persevere. It took me about ten tries over 5 days with the answer desk online chat before they escalated it. Within 48 hrs they called and emailed me the links.

I tried SEVEN times, and every representative had a different approach and response.  I finally got someone who "escalated" the issue.  After some e-mail interaction I actually got a call back from someone who knew what they were doing, and got my Visio 2016 license set up. 

**A BIG problem is if you don't have your software associated with a Microsoft account.  If you installed 2013 using a product key, they absolutely can't help you.**You need to have your product key associated with your Microsoft account.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbfIHR_52do At the 32 minute point of this video they BRAG about being able to do a side-by-side installation of CTR 2013 beside 2010.  The new limit in the CTR 2016 installer is “artificial”.  CTR technology is supposed to isolate the programs inside of the CTR from those outside!  2016 CTR has broken this feature!

I am having exactly the same issue. I have just purchased Visio 2013 Standard which installed as Office 2013. When it installed it took out my Office 365. I then tried to reload my Office365 only for it to tell me that it was about to remove Office 2013 and my Visio.

I have looked for an upgrade to Visio 2013 to get around this but none available.

Glad you EVENTUALLY got a solution from MS Support.

I agree, an appropriate reply should be marked as ANSWER, but that is the task of moderators. They are very busy constantly doing it inappropriately (IMHO) on other questions, but not on this one. Go figure.

With all the repeated "help me" posts on this problem, perhaps it would be worthwhile to try & get the solution posted as the "Answer" or "Most helpful comment" as most people don't seem to be going through the hundreds of messages to find that the answer is to call Microsoft & they will upgrade the older product for free.

Eventually they solved my problem in this way (albeit with several hours on the phone).
