OneNote (OSX) Language Proofing

I had the same problem as I need my Norwegian keys for writing in Norwegian, but only use English in OneNote. 

I found a solution to the problem, though requiring a little tricking with keyboard layouts in order to make the mac think the layout is English. 

1. First, I download Ukelele 3.0.2 from here. Remember also to add the "Resources" folder to somewhere on your mac, as it tells you to.
2. Once the app is launched, press cmd+O, and open Resources -> Roman (given that it's a Roman language you're using)
3. Find your language, and press the "Language.." button. On the scroll menu on the top, choose English (en), and press "Ok"
4. Now, right click on your language, and chose "Duplicate Keyboard Layout". This opens up the keyboard, but don't worry about the keyboard, we won't touch anything there.
5. It should say "Untitled" on the top of the window, so just press there, and rename it to "US", and put it in a folder where you can find it.
6. Now, go to Finder. Macintosh HD -> Library -> Keyboard Layouts. Copy your new keyboard language "US" in here. It requires an admin password.
7. Log out and back on to your user account.
8. Final step: Go to System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Input Sources.
9. Select the "+" button. Scroll down to "Others", and select your new "US" keyboard layout.
10. Ta-da :-)

I use a Swedish keyboard because i live in Sweden and need the extra vowels but write in English....thus Onenote proofs everything in Swedish....

Any fixes???

Hi. This is not a good solution though: as my Mac is using a physical French Azerty keyboard (which is what I want since to write French this is by far the most practical keyboard), I need to be a ble to use the same Azerty keyboard when writing in English or Italian etc without having to reset the language proofing at each paragraph. No other application requires that. Not one, not even Microsoft applications!

I agree with pallaire.  I recently lived in Spain, and I have become accustomed to their keyboard style.  I, therefore, set my mac keyboard to Spanish ISO.  However, when I type in OneNote, the language keeps changing to Spanish (even though I might be taking notes, say, in a US History class).  Would you please enable it so that you can set a language per notebook.  In addition, it would be nice to be able to create custom templates (as in the OneNote for Windows).

I am not sure why OneNote for Mac is so drastically different than that for Windows, but I think that the Mac OneNote should be revamped to resemble the OneNote for Windows.

People who changes language are usually handling more than one language at at time.

So for me, I work in both English and French, and to avoid having to always switch keyboard, I have configured it to use US International ... this way I can create French accentuated letters without changing the keyboard.

But I should be able to do a CTRL-A (Command-A) and set proofing language to the whole Note in a specific language, after that typing a new paragraph should continue on the same language and not switch back. 

It works fine on windows.
