Reinstalling Microsoft Office 2013 on New Computer

I have read a lot of rumors on this topic on the web and want to get a real answer before proceeding.  I purchased Microsoft Office 2013 a few months ago but never installed it.  I'd like to install it now.  However, I plan to purchase a new laptop in approximately a year.  Some of the rumors say that once you install Microsoft Office 2013, not only can you not transfer it to a new machine at a later date, but you can't even reinstall it on the same machine if you reformat the hard drive, decided to install a brand new hard drive, or something similar that changes your machine's hardware configuration.  I want to make sure that if I install Microsoft Office 2013 now that 1) I can remove it later and use the license on a new laptop (Windows 8) and 2) I can reinstall it on this same computer after reformatting my hard drive and doing a clean install of Windows (most likely Windows 7) and other apps.   Please advise.  Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community and we are glad to assist you with your concern.

You will be able to re-install Office 2013 on the same computer if you had to reformat the hard drive and do a clean install of the operating system.

You may transfer the software to another computer that belongs to you, but not more than one time every 90 days (except due to hardware failure, in which case you may transfer sooner). If you transfer the software to another computer, that other computer becomes the "licensed computer."

Any time you transfer the software to a new computer, you must remove the software from the prior computer and you may not retain any copies.

    My pc died several times and office 2013 is pre installed and activated when ı bought my laptop but it died several times and now ı cant do anything. it keeps saying activate but ı am not the one who actiavted it. ı bought it pre installed and ı  am having this problem since 2014 and no one is able to help me. can you help pls. my laptop is asus rog g75vx. if you want to make sure that it get pre installed ı can tell you the windows 8 key that is writing under the laptop. pls help. ı am stuck with google documents and ı need word or powerpoint for school.

    I have a question about something you said, "Any time you transfer the software to a new computer, you must remove the software from the prior computer". In my situation, my motherboard from 2009 died, I bought a new computer a couple of days ago. My prior primary hard drive with Windows 7 OS and MS Office 2013 is good but I cannot use it as my primary on the new computer (I can connect it and see everything on it through a USB hard drive adapter). So how do I remove it from the prior computer (old hard drive) so I can reinstall it on my new computer's (Windows 10 OS) primary hard drive?

    Some additional information: I purchased Office 2013 from the Microsoft website (a special email offer through the company I work for). I'm not sure what type of license it is as you have asked others. The file I downloaded after purchase has this in the file name 'Setup.x64.en-US_ProPlusRetail_'. I have my product key from my purchase of Office 2013. I have not tried to launch the Setup file yet because I hope to have clear direction on what I need to do.
