Excel 2013 Insert and Delete (column/row) grayed out for all workbook

Hello -

I have an odd issue.   No matter if it is a new or existing workbook my insert and delete row/column options are greyed out.   The workbook is not protected as this happens for even brand new ones as well.  I have searched and cannot locate a solution.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Just solved my own issue.

Had to delete the \Office\15.0\Excel\Options via regedit.

Problem resolved.

    Solved by doing this as suggest  by  the  techie guns it worked..Thanks folks

    You simply need to close Excel, then navigate to "%appdata%\Microsoft\Excel" in Windows explorer and rename Excel15.xlb to Excel15.old, and finally restart Excel and the problem should be fixed.

    Hi,

    I had the same problem today.

    You simply need to close Excel, then navigate to "%appdata%\Microsoft\Excel" in Windows explorer and rename Excel15.xlb to Excel15.old, and finally restart Excel and the problem should be fixed.

    Thanks. This resolved my issue. I was struggling with virtually no help from MS Office. Had reloaded Office, Checked all Option settings, upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10, searched MS Office community answers but nothing worked. Thanks a TON !!

    Hi,

    I had similar problem and in my case solution was quite simple.

    I've converted a range of my data to Table format. When I defined the table as range of columns ($A:$E) then I couldn't insert a new row ('Insert' was frozen). I've deleted one row and after that 'Insert' was enabled again. When I inserted new row, 'Insert' changed to frozen state.

    I've redefined a range of Table to -for example- $A1:$E10 and 'Insert' problem dissapeared.

    Conclusion: do not define Table as range of Columns ;)
