I am having exactly the same issue on my Microsoft Lumia 950XL logging into Office 365 which incidentally I have paid for and subscribe to (at not insignificant cost I might add for a marginally solvent customer !) hence continuing to support Micro$oft financially
for services that originally came as an affordable one-off payment but no longer seem worth the emotional and intellectual contortions necessary.
It should all be so much simpler by now, being the age of the ordinarily computer savvy user, not the nerdy geek techy.
I too have had my legacy '@msn.com' account for maybe 30 years or so - it should be enshrined in tablets of stone by now!
Sorry for the sarcasm here, but it is deeply irritating thaï MS cannot get it right even now and drag their feet over resolving issues that should have been eliminated in the testing phase, not left to their loyal customers to resolve or road test as if
a beta tester.
Very, very disappointed following on from all the problems of migrating to Windows 10 and to Edge browser and being unable to login to sites like Amazon and ebay and even now - YouTube, all of which worked fine in Internet Explorer in all its evolutionary
changes.
Rather explains the exasperation of so many formerly faithful users now migrating to free alternatives to Office and even other less problematical OS's other than sticking with the seemingly dinosaur like monolith that is MS which seems intent on inevitably
following previously successful species like the dinosaur into extinction and taking those that were invested in, and heavily dependent on its architecture, with them.
I had felt always deep irritation at having to move to a creaking, non-intuitive, intransigent Word from the WordPerfect that I knew and loved which was formerly industry standard - intuitive, easy to learn and use, correct and edit, that was transparent
in operation, able to see and edit out any unwanted codes that made it function (that is before it was bought out and ruined by another monolithic corporation, Corel and rendered unavailable to ordinary private users) - lessons to be learned here by Microsoft,
I think, if they do not want to follow the dinosaurs into extinction.
Sorry for the bilious response.
Still a loyal adherent to the brand, but only just, and no longer an acolyte, and yet the scales have fallen from my eyes.....!
