Use of own domain name with Office 365 Home/Premium

I cannot seem to find out whether I can add my own private domain, i.e. not a business user, but I own a personalised domain, with Office 365 Home Premium.

In other words, I would like to use ******@mydomain.com instead of ******@outlook.com.

I know you can do this with Office 365 for Business, but need to know whether this can be done with Home Premium.

It's really disappointing that Microsoft is ignoring this thread.

Yesterday I decided to give O365 Home Premium a shot and so far I really like it. But I'd like it more, if it would be possible to add a own domain.

As many people have already mentioned here, a lot of familys own private domains.

Until MS changes his mind, I'll stick with google apps

Same here with our family. Office 365 is great, so please make it possible to add a domain! Since the Office 365 business plans allow this, you should already have the technical base and the cost for you is minimal. No Office 365 Home subscribe will switch to the much more expensive business plans to get custom domain support. A no-brainer for you. You could even charge us for the Service, e.g. 2-3 $ per month - still better than have no possibility.

Yup in the same boat here. My google apps go back to the days of 100 email accounts with the domain.

It is most frustrating that the information about handling our own domains on an O365 home use account iis not clear.

Chrisfarrugia is right, Its more about having your domain hosted directly with office 365..

Even if Microsoft thinks it will be abused if they make 365 home with domain support, being cheaper than other offerings per user - make it so personal accounts can use there domains, Not everyone wants to use Sharepoint, Lync, Onedrive Pro, and the more business looking and functioning outlook online.. but still want to use there current email setup.

The advantage that Google for Work has is that when you use it or a normal Gmail account they function / look the same, you still get your nice interfaces, same online applications Just with paid support and domain functionality..

Also i see a lot of people confusing outlook online, Office 365, and other terms regarding the new Microsoft systems with one another. I have even seen people on these forums that workfor Microsoft that don't know what us lot are on about - Continuing to refer to OUTLOOK (The Desktop Application)

Feedback from Microsoft would be nice.....

I think the whole issue is not that you cannot manage a Google account (whether on own domain or not) with Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013, but we want to be able to HOST our own domain in Office365 Home Premium and do away with Google Apps.

To-date our cries seem to have fallen on deaf Microsoft ears, even if we are paying customers and not free Outlook.com users :-(
