Microsoft will give us custom domains. Finally!
Interesting but limited to five personal email addresess. I actually want to to be able to create tens or even hundreds of email aliases, all on the same inbox. I only need a few mailboxes as befits my family, but in this day of cyber attacks on companies holding our data, or companines sharing our data, I want to give each one of them an unique address that I can change or delete on a whim. I've done this in the past when I hosted my domain on my home internet, but I really don't want to get bacj in to do that again.
I'm looking for a reliable email provided (IMAP/POP3/Web + backups + well maintained security + SPF/DomainKeys) where I can host my own personal domain(s) and manage any number of email aliases. Deleting an alias should prevent message delivery at the SMTP level and not be something that happens as a filtering step post delivery/acceptance of the message.
Reading this thread, it looks to me like Microsoft aren't even thinking about this or consider the market too small to bother with.
