Do you know the exact error you’re getting?

Depending on the error or the problem, there are different steps you can take and there are Microsoft articles that can help. For example:

If you get an error that contains “integratedoffice.exe”, look at this article: Fix integratedoffice.exe install errors in Office 2013 or Office 365.

If the installation is hanging at different percentages, look at this article: Microsoft Office 2013 or Office 365 hangs during setup.

If the download is very slow, look at this article: Downloading Office 2013 is slow.

There’s also an article that provides general troubleshooting steps for Office setup: General troubleshooting for installing Office 2013 and Office 365 .

You can also go to this page on Microsoft Support to find more Office 2013 install articles. Or, this page for Office 365 Home Premium articles.

If you’d rather contact support, look at this page for Office 2013 support options, and this page for Office 365 Home Premium support options.

I have a new laptop with an OEM version of Windows 8 installed. I too purchased Office Professional Plus 2013 but it will NOT install. I ran the diagnostics tool and it claims all Office products have been removed but when I run the 32-bit Office install again it fails with an unknown error. If this issue is happening with an IT professional of 20 years, it cold be happening with hundreds of thousands!

Oddly enough I was having the same problem with my laptop and in spite of help from the Community nothing worked. I have just managed to cure it by, would you believe, changing my monitor resolution from 1366 x 768 down to 1280 x 768 (which is different from the other computer, a PC (1280 x 1024)) where I installed the program with no trouble at all. I did a clean uninstall using "Fixit" to start with, changed the resolution and then installed the program. Often I find that something totally quirky works when scientific info doesn't. I have no idea if this will help anyone else but if all else fails it's worth a try.
