Excel 2013 starts up with blank screen when opened from explorer

When I double click any Excel file in windows explorer, Excel starts up maximized and I can see the ribbon but the whole grid area where my data should be is blank, no gridlines or row/column headers. If I "restore down" the Excel window then everything appears as normal.
I sometimes get subsequent Excel crashes.
I also get an Excel crash by clicking on an Excel file in windows explorer, as if to preview it. The Excel file preview function is not working since I installed Office 2013 Professional.

2015-07-09T20:34:53+00:00 I have several computers that are having this issue, all have the AMD Catalyst install manager installed. Once I removed it the problem went away.
Thanks for the resolution, I've been trying to figure this out for days.

2015-07-02T12:10:34+00:00 After trying all the suggestions and with none of them fixing the 'Feature' this solution worked. Many thanks for the suggestion. Now I can use OneDrive and my NAS again.

2015-06-29T12:35:55+00:00 After moving our entire system from an HDD to a new SSD, we suddenly had a problem with Office 365 (all programs - Excel, Word, PowerPoint) being unable to open hyperlinked files, whether from Explorer or from the list of previously opened documents within the program itself. Double clicking the link would start the relevant Office program, but it would close immediately and then reopen with a blank document.
We went through numerous attempts to solve the issue, including uninstalling and reinstalling Office, which did not work. Eventually, the problem was found to be a corrupt cache file(s), located in the following folder:
C:\Users[Username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\OfficeFileCache
I couldn't delete the entire folder, as Windows said it was in use (even though no Office program was running). However, I deleted everything inside this folder that was deletable, including everything inside its' subfolder LocalCacheFileEditManager. This solved the problem. The next time Office is run, the proper cache files will be created automatically.
