What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

Then, for more detailed instructions, you can follow the Guide Here:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Terrible answer.  I can't believe 20 people found it useful (unless all they wanted to know was if it was removed or not).  This is not a "small change" to anyone that used it regularly.  Of all the things I don't like about Office 2013, this is one of the worst.  Office 2010 was great, and most of us have no use for your cloud.

    Who would ever use PowerPoint or Word to edit photos?  Certainly nobody who is even remotely into photography.  Bad move, Microsoft.  I always thought you were a smart company.  What happened? 

    And BTW... most people have no interest in your cloud either.  I can't understand re-designing Office around it.  I thought Office 2010 was a great improvement over previous versions and I really liked it.  I wish I never moved to Office 2013... I can't consider that an upgrade.

    I travel for my job with a company-owned laptop.  Company will not allow us to install other software (such as Windows Live Photo), so I am stuck.  I loved Office 2010 (such an improvement over previous versions), but I hate Office 2013... this is just one more reason. 

    Even the photo importer sucks now (that's part of Windows 7, I believe?).  There is no ability to select the photos you want to import and organize into different folders like there used to be (unless you can use Windows Live Photo, which I can't). 

    Who does upgrades that actually make their software worse?  Gee thanks, Microsoft.   What were you thinking?
