What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    OK...first Microsoft took it out. Second they took out viewing the pictures as thumbnails in the file explorer. In the great idea department, they now make you look at each picture one by one.  Sounds like they really do not want productivity to better huh! I guess they want us to purchase another product that does what people want and not theirs.

    From a consumer point of view, I agree that it was a very poor decision to remove Office Picture Manager.  Powerpoint was obviously not a suitable substitute or we would have been using it and you wouldn't have 100+ people complaining. Duh.  Bad enough to remove the software, worse that Microsoft employs a drone here to insult our intelligence.

    Sorry you guys are upset at my reply.  It is easy to appear to over-react in this text only format of communication (as you have perceived I have).

    From my point of view it is a little frustrating when people do not read the whole discussion, just "me too" on the end of it. If you do look through it you'll see the same solution to the lack posted more than once.

    We can hope, but not expect, that with enough people making the same point MS will make it easier to get a copy of Picture Manager. I cannot envision them including it back in the Office 2013 installer, but it would be easy enough for them to create an installer with just Picture Manager and to create a KB article that would be easier for people to find.
