What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

evinparis, I am with you on the frustration. Knuckle heads that make these decisions are a joke. Having said that, I have messed around with the stupid program and what I noticed is that when you make changes to the picture, there is a copy button that will save the changes. Why in the H*** they can't just stick with save as like they have for decades is beyond me.

Hope it helps. I am using a program now called irfan. Seems to be pretty good but I still like picture manger.

I am sure you will hear from Rohn007 about how to download the picture manager back into your system by reloading an older version of office but I haven't gone there yet. Seems a little over my head. You shouldn't have to be a computer wiz to keep a very good working program. MS what a bunch of overpaid goofs. I wonder if they even beta tested 2013 before they launched this, if so, they need a new beta group.

than what? where do you save an image you've changed? I looked high and low and cannot find anywhere to save it.

After just moving to Windows 8 and Office 365 I am really upset at having to use Photo Gallery instead of Picture Manager. The commands are not as easy to find and if you do find how to make the changes, where the heck do you save the image? I looked on every tab and menu drop down and it is not there. If I am missing something please let me know. I am having to use my husband's PC for my photo editing which is not productive. Removing picture manager was a really bad idea.
