What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

The reply above is the answer. He recommends downloading SharePoint 2007, but you can Download SharePoint Designer 2010 and it has picture manager in it. It appears identical to the 2007 version so that shows you how innovative Microsoft wants to be when it comes to this.

When you install, choose custom install, and just uncheck (red X) everything except Picture Manager.

What were they thinking? Here is all the stuff they 'gutted' from SharePoint Designer 2007. (Its okay, nobody uses it anyhow, says "Mother Microsoft" we know what is best for you. Eat your slop. You will learn to like it. Else you can go to bed hungry.

Let MS know how you feel by going into a photo / edit area in PowerPoint or Word - selecting the smiley in the top toolbar and sending them a big frown regarding the lack of Picture Manager. That form of feedback works for all of the areas of Office that you find feature gaps, or things you like.

Can some kind person tell me where to find the smiley? Maybe a visit to specsavers is needed

as I cannot find it on Word or PPoint! TIA
