exporting contacts FROM Outlook 365

I've worked as a computer consultant for 20 years. I have to say that Office 365 is the LEAST user friendly product I've ever seen. Impossible to do do simply things that in other products are intuitive. Right now I'm trying to export my contact list. When I search on this topic all the examples say something like go to OUTLOOK -> FILE --> OPTIONS --> ADVANCED.   After an hour of searching I dont find anything in outlook that says file . I find options but not Advanced and nothing else that leads to exporting

Hi Steve,

I will assist you with the query you have in exporting contacts from Outlook 365.

You may follow the steps below to Export the Outlook contacts:

Open Outlook, click File, Open and export and then click Export to a file.

Once you are in the import\Export window follow the on screen instructions to export the items from Outlook.

If you want to import the data into Outlook, then you may refer to the direction mentioned in the link below:

Note: Instead of Import, you need to look for the Export option in the above link.

    steveshore- have you had any luck with this? I'm trying to export my contact list from Outlook 365 and apparently it is impossible... I agree that the Microsoft support team isn't helpful!

    this is just amazing

    I'm the one who posted this query originally over a year ago when my employer moved from an older version of outlook. I was not able to save any of my old emails back then. Now I have a new employer but the same client.  Once again, I want to be able to export my emails into a new format. 15 months later and no one has answered this stupid question. Two Microsoft engineers have chimed in but neither of them have address what should be a simple question

    No, there is no "FILE" option. Raju says try Alt and F but that takes you to internet explorer, not outlook.

    No, there aren't any arrows that 'unhide' anything, it has nothing to do with being on a MAC, it isn't there

    'This site is for CONSUMERS - not business users.' What? people use outlook for work. Are we consumers or business users? aren't we both?

    'Just COPY the pst file to the new computer and in Outlook do File>Open.'

    If you use outlook for  work , which most of us do, your pst file is not on your computer, it is on a server

    so you need to be able to export it

    And no, don't tell me to ask the administrator at my company, because he can't figure it out either

    When I tried Alt+F, nothing changed.

    The version of Outlook on my Mac looks exactly the same as the version on my Dell laptop.

    I don't see anything that allows me to "unhide" any kind of toolbar.

    Here is a screen shot of the window after I followed the instructions that told me how to export my contacts to "Export for Outlook.com and other services": file:///Users/Beki/Desktop/Screen%20Shot%202014-07-30%20at%201.55.25%20PM.png

    (If it doesn't come up, it is a blank window with a tab at the top that is labeled "People" and another tab (the one that is open now) that is labeled "Untitled" with an entirely blank window.

    When I try to export it for Outlook 2010 and 2013, I get a window with instructions: file:///Users/Beki/Desktop/Screen%20Shot%202014-07-30%20at%202.04.07%20PM.png

    that don't work.

    This is the entire reason I'm moving away from Outlook. I need to be able to utilize my contacts for mass emailings, etc.
