exporting contacts FROM Outlook 365

I've worked as a computer consultant for 20 years. I have to say that Office 365 is the LEAST user friendly product I've ever seen. Impossible to do do simply things that in other products are intuitive. Right now I'm trying to export my contact list. When I search on this topic all the examples say something like go to OUTLOOK -> FILE --> OPTIONS --> ADVANCED.   After an hour of searching I dont find anything in outlook that says file . I find options but not Advanced and nothing else that leads to exporting

Hi Steve,

I will assist you with the query you have in exporting contacts from Outlook 365.

You may follow the steps below to Export the Outlook contacts:

Open Outlook, click File, Open and export and then click Export to a file.

Once you are in the import\Export window follow the on screen instructions to export the items from Outlook.

If you want to import the data into Outlook, then you may refer to the direction mentioned in the link below:

Note: Instead of Import, you need to look for the Export option in the above link.

    Hallelujah! M$ finally did fixed this ridiculous oversight in features after two long years. I have enjoyed seeing comments periodically as others have come to the realization that Outlook.com did not allow anyone to export contacts. I'm saddened that I will no longer have the joy of those people ridiculing M$ over this.

    That's nice David but in my case the issue is that on my desktop outlook app I can not get the contacts.

    I actually do not need to export, just want to use desktop app. everything works fine except contacts.

    from web I can type a part of name and it finds the contact but not in desktop app. looks like outlook(desktop) can not retrieve contacts from server for some reason.

    anybody has the same problem? of course if one can get them on desktop app then exporting is not a big deal.

    GregMustin,

    Hopefully this will help you.  I ran into this problem literally abut two hours ago. 

    According to my handy-dandy sysadmin, MS Outlook syncs to the cloud (Office 365) so any contacts you add or currently have on your OWA (cloud) list will appear on the Contacts tab on your Outlook application and not necessarily on your Address book. 

    If your contacts are added on OWA, they will almost immediately appear on your Contacts tab on MS Outlook.  After that, you may then export the csv file from MS Outlook and distribute it to your partners

    I was able to successfully test it using Office13 but I'm sure that Office 10 should have the same capabilities.
