Office 2013 Activator Error 25004 , even after uninstall , clean boot - reinstall

Hello All ,

I have seen the article for http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2792178 and followed all steps , but still i get that error after 3-4 uninstalls and installs the key gets activated once but again on restart the computer the same product activation dialog is opened and it gives the error.

I am very frustrated please let me know what to do ?

I suspect, but cannot prove, that article is flawed. In all previous versions of Office, simply doing an uninstall will NOT prevent this error. The only thing I know of to prevent the error is a complete re-install of WINDOWS.

That's correct I did re-install of office 3-4 times .. even after having the original key. I was getting the same error.

and FINALLY !!! I had to re-install my WINDOWS

    First of all it would be good to enable ssl 2 in internet explorer settings under advanced tab.

    After that go to C:\Windows\system32\spp\store\2.0 and rename tokens.dat file

    Try to reinstall office again :)

    This suggestion from Smurreff needs to be marked as an answer as it is the only thing that worked. Deleting everything, reg settings, files and folders, in ALL the hidden and not hidden places etc did not work This was it. So please give Smurreff the credit for giving the correct answer/fix and not for just being helpful which he/she was.

    THANKS A LOT SMURREFF!!!!!!! It worked!. Nothing else worked. The Fixit from Microsoft said there was nothing to remove. The use of the .VBS script for removing/changing the keycode did not work. It said there were no keycodes installed. NOTHING worked except your fix!!!

    Thanks a lot for it. The Office 365 product should be avoided at ALL times. It is junk ware designed to get you caught up in a mini monopoly and that is not the American way. Monopolies are illegal in this country via the constitution and in Europe they are much more aware of such things but this 365 **** seem to have escaped that label and us Techs of the world need to educate the users that this type of software IS NEVER GOING TO BE YOUR FRIEND, and should be deleted and avoided at ALL TIMES.

    Restart the computer and try it again. I could delete the folder but can't install the office though
