Office 2013; office account signin feature 'disabled' after upgrade

check this out.  I changed my setting from 3 to 0 and now I can login & sync.

To change the Office 2013 logon types offered to the user

1. From Registry Editor, browse to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\SignIn\SignInOptions
2. Set the value of SignInOptions to one of the following:

Office 2013 SignInOptions values

| 0 | DWORD | (Default) This displays both the user's Microsoft account ID and the organization ID that is assigned by Microsoft as their logon identity options. |
| 1 | DWORD | This only displays their Microsoft account ID. |

| 3 | DWORD | This does not display either ID type. The user will be unable to log on. If you set SignInOptions to 3, and a user triggers the logon page, no ID types will be offered to the user. Instead, the message “Sign in has been disabled” is displayed. |

I used Run - Regedit and took my time searching through the various subdirectories shown in the timfly note.

(HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Internet:UseOnlineContent)

First couple of tries missed seeing the Internet:UseOnlineContent line but finally did.  Changed the (0) to a (1).  Closed Regedit and  to be overly cautious I Restarted the computer.

After the restart I restarted OneNote on my Samsung Galaxy S3, my Win7 Laptop and my Surface Pro and they all sync together. 

As a bonus, this seems to also be the reason I could not gain access to my Office 365 account from the laptop.  I kept getting a "Feature disabled by Administrator" error which was the question I originally posted.

I just installed Office 2013 but I'm having the same issues as desribed here.

I tried already with changing the register but this didn't work out.

What I already tried:

• Office 2013 Plus 64bit --> uninstall
• Installed Office 2013 Plus 32bit
• Register settings

--> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Internet:UseOnlineContent 1

This key did not exist, I created it but didn't change anything. (With reboot & restart program)

No matter what I try or search, the problem "This function is disabled by administrator" remains.

I just can't get to the sign-in screen. Open -> Skydrive -> Sign in or Account -> Sign in just do the same for me.

SOLUTION:

Start OneNote, it will ask to sign in and will link your account to the other Office programs.

The reg value exists on my installation, so you could try creating it manually.

interesting the value has changed from 1 (which I set it to manually) to 2... all is working well though :-)
