Change Background color Theme Office 2013

Has anyone come up with how to Change the Color on the Office 2013 Them from "gray".  Microsoft has really not been user friendly with Windows 8 or Office 2013 in enabling the user to change their environment.

I think Microsoft does not read these forum questions.  Otherwise, some of the technical people would be contacting their customers to gain feedback.

I am extremely disappointed in the Office 13 and Win8 programs. 

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Community. It is unfortunate that you are unable to locate the option in Office 2013 to change the theme of applications. Let me help you with the issue.

For the Office 2013 (RTM) version you may follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the File tab
  2. Click on Options
  3. Choose the General tab on the left
  4. Find the ‘O ffice Theme’ dropdown item
  5. Choose between White, Light Gray, and Dark Gray.

If you have Office 2013 preview version installed, then you have an option to change the background color by clicking on File, Options, General and under the group 'Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office', you may choose the background you wish to change to and click ok.

If you are using preview version of Office then you have a Smiley on the top right hand side of the application, you may click on it and send in your feedback.

    MICROSOFT AND BLACKBERRY ARE DESTINATED TO DISSAPEAR.  THEY DONT PAY ATTENTION TO THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!

    WHY THEY HAVE TO STUPIDLY CHANGE THE INTERFACE FROM ALL PROGRAMS???? IF A PROGRAM IS ALREAYD WORKING FINE (LIKE IT WAS WINDOWS 3.1, i think in my opinion was the best MICROSOFT VERSION EVER MADE), afterwards...were only patches after patches......   trying to do things better but all they do is upsetting the users, because every f...king new version they made is always frustrating to learn again all tricks you learned well in previous versions.    They should only ADD new features and make windows more RELIABLE, not focus on changing and changing again and again....

    HOPE one day MS can make a reliable software.

    Actually I would call it:   Windows 3.1 Reloaded!!!!

    Why MS is so stupid not to hear their customers?  Why they have to keep changing every fu...ng year all the program interfaces!!!!.  WE WANT TO HAVE A RELIABLE SOFTWARE, WE DONT WANT MS TO KEEP CHANGING EVERY FU....NG YEAR!!!!  OR ON EVERY VERSION.

    MAKE THE VERSION BETTER, BUT DONT CHANGE WHAT IS ALREADY WORKING AND CORRECT.

    I LIKED MORE OUTLOOK 2007,   OUTLOOK 2013 IS NOT FRIENDLY IT ALL.  WITH THE WHITE BACKGROUND YOU KIND OF LOSE TRACK OF EVERYTHING.

    THEN THE LINES DIVIDING EVERY EMAIL ARE SO THING THAT YOU CANT SEE THEM!!!

    WHY WHY WHY.?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????  I AM TIRED OF MICROSOFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  IS A NECESSARY EVIL

    I've been using Office for years and this is the most drab looking version ever. So we have grey and white? wow..  Not saying Microsoft should've had Picasso design it but this is one of the worst looking programs period. The New Mail notification for junk mail is another annoying thing. Didn't happen for 2010..why 2013? From what I've read it's beyond the programming skills at Microsoft to fix it it seems. Programs take at least 3x longer to load than in 2010. Office 2013 is big step back in my opinion. If I hadn't gotten it for $9.95 through my companies Home Use program I'd still be with 2010.

    While I have no use for Coca-Cola, I do use Office 2013. Who's going to step-up and write some code to fix this lack of colors in themes problem. Oh, that's right, the code is already written, but the pick list has no actual colors listed. Looks like Dumb and Dumber are hard(ly) at work here. 

    Perhaps this lack of colors for Office 2013 themes is a purposeful move to make this version so ugly that we'll all salivate for a cloud service licensing model - the ultimate goal of software vendors since the late-80's, or earlier.

    Judging from my increasing disinterest in the blah look, I'm about three weeks away from uninstalling 2013 and going back to Office 2010. That's what I call progress, Microsoft. Good job!
