Microsoft Office 2013 Has Stopped Working

Just installed Office 2013 Professional Plus.  Everytime i try and run one of the apps like word, excel, outlook, and so on it just pops up and saying it has stopped working.  It then says it searchs for a solution online which doesn't ever do anything there either.  This happens with all the componenets of Office.  After it erroring out a couple of times i can usually get it to start in safe mode.  I have already gone in and disabled the add ins.  Have tried uninstalling Office and reinstalling.  Did a repair on it.  Tried doing the reapair while Norton AntiVirus and Firewall were disabled.  Installed all the Office 2013 updates.  None of them have fixed the issue.  Booted my computer into safe mode with networking and tried running it from there, it didn't give me the error saying it has stopped just that it can't be run in safe mode.  I'm running Win 7 Pro 64 Bit.

I solved my issue last weekend.  Turned out to be one of the add-ins, ABBYY Finereader.  Not sure where that one came from, but I disabled it for Outlook and Excel, and everything is working fine now.

    Hello Doug.. I am posting a reply here after 3 years. Hope you are able to read this.

    PLEASE HELP if you can !!

    I have Windows 10 with authentic Office 2013 on my Lenovo Yoga3 Pro; have been using Office without any problems at all until yesterday (13May16). I was working on an Excel document with simple formulas but no macros or VBA etc. Suddenly, I got the window "Excel has stopped working" "Microsoft Excel will try to recover your information......" "Close Program"..... and crashed. I started Excel again, and the moment I type any character, within a few seconds I get the message and crashes again. If I open Excel and stare at it without typing, there is no problem. The moment I start typing in any field, the message-crash happens.

    I DO NOT have any Add-ins at all; definitely no ABBY-Finreader at all; I dont have any printer associated with my notebook  - neither Epson nor HP.

    I followed all steps given by you and many others in various forums... typically these steps:

    • I opened Excel in safe mode; checked for Add-ins.... I DO NOT HAVE ANY. Absolutely NONE Active. There are COM Add-ins, but all of them are NOT ACTIVE. 
    • I did QUICK REPAIR of my Office 2013 - of no avail.
    • I did an ONLINE REPAIR that uninstalled my Office 2013, and reinstalled it; I also got a message "Fixed all issues". Still no avail. Problem persists.
    • I uninstalled my antivirus (Bitdefender) and am living with just the Windows Defender now. Still of no avail.

    WHAT ELSE SHOULD I DO?

    WILL SOMEBODY HELP?

    If that does not help, then you might remove all traces of the Office installation by downloading the fixit from the following article:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

    saving it to your computer and then running it.

    Then reinstall Office by logging into www.office.com/myaccountwith your registered email address and click Install Office.

    BEFORE REMOVING THE OFFICE INSTALLATION,  MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT AND THAT OFFICE IS ASSOCIATED WITH IT!

    If you actually have Office (locally installed) rather than the subscription version provided through Office 365, then you can't get Office through your Microsoft Account. Instead, see

    Thank you so much for this. I have been frustrated with being unable to open excel and word since October and I noticed (for some reason) that is when I installed ABBYY Finereader. Once uninstalled.........I have my Office 2013 all back. Yahoo!!!
