Does an Office 365 Home Premium subscription come with ad-free outlook.com e-mail, or would I still need to pay an additional $20/year?

Folks, it appears the original question continues to go unanswered here.

So, I will simply answer it.  Yes, the two outlook services are not related other than the name "outlook."

But to answer the QUESTION.... That India apparently got muddy for us (as usual).

    ANSWER:

As a 365 subscriber, you will still need to either pay to remove adds from Outlook.com OR, simply install a Firefox extension (also called add-ons or plug-ins) like "Webmail Ad Blocker."

This is a program that will do outlook.com among other webmail providers and sometimes give you back that screen real estate in the process as well.  Outlook.com ad blocker is currently only available within Chrome, but like I said, there is the other extension called "Webmail Ad Blocker" extension for FireFox that works great!

    Take Care,

    US Born

Yes I have the 365 subscription and Outlook.com has nothing to do with it so that monthly fee is no help with Outlook.com, but the Webmail Ad Blocked for Chrome works great! So no worries, As usual, Microsoft is just trying to get more money. Greedy!!

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community and I will be glad to assist you with your concern.

There is no charge applied to use Outlook.com.

For more information related to Outlook.com you may refer to the link below:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/outlook

I hope this helps. If you need any further information, you can always reply and I’ll be happy to help you.

    Thank you.

Please read my question. This is not what I asked.

The question - still unanswered - is: why, when subscribing to the paidOffice365 service does the online outlook web application still serve adverts?

Yes, I can and do use Outlook 2016 as a client and that's fine

Yes, I use the 1TB of OneDrive and that is also fine

Yes, I use SharePoint, OneNote and other online web apps - all ad free

BUT: on the occasions that I use the Outlook web app (aka outlook.com), I am still served ads.

Not a big deal and I work around it - but I'm disappointed that:

    a) there isn't a clear answer; and

    b) there is a disjoint between different components of the same overall service package known as Office365

Any free mail service has its drawbacks

It is not a free mail service. Please RTFA and the original post :-)

When i subscribed to MS Office 365 Home Premium 5 user edition i did it through my Outlook.com account. MS said my subscription included Office 365 which should include Outlook.com since it is on the menu list and touted as the online counter part to Outlook desktop just like Word and Excel.

It is accessing my 1 Tb of One Drive.

That looks like part of the package to me.

So therefore to me it is not free but part of a service i pay for.

Because they market it that way.
