How to change the theme of Office 2013

I concur with all the complaints on this thread. I purchased a three user copy of Office 365 and upgraded my three home machines.

I now have deep regrets due to the horrible 'whiteness' and stark contrast of the new Office theme, which can only be toggled between three completely inadequate options.

Microsoft, please get your act together and update the theme options... QUICKLY. Otherwise we will all be deserting this product in droves.

I can certainly understand the need to read customer feedback, I have read a lot of feedback myself enough to make me realize there is a problem here. Obviously it can't be that difficult to offer more themes so why not give the customer the option of choosing his/her preference. If Microsoft is so sold on the new white look then keep it as the default but at least give those of us like myself that use Office 2013 for hours everyday some options to choose what we feel comfortable working with. With options everyone wins, I don't see how that can be refuted. We are the users, please allow us to be comfortable using Office 2013. Thank you.

Thank you for the feedback on Office’s new look. We are actively collecting, sorting and reading through feedback on Office 2013’s design and User Experience. As the audience for Office 2013 grows, we are being mindful of patterns and pain points that emerge from user feedback. While we do not have any additional Themes planned at this time, it is an issue we are watching very closely.

You should be and need to be planning more themes at this time! Please, at least provide the themes that were available in Office 2010. The current themes are absolutely ridiculous. It reminds me of a cartoon or a 1970s web page. It makes me feel like I am using a cheap low-budget program a very young child would use. It is not at all what I would expect from Microsoft for Professionals. Please, at least tell me how I can import the themes from Office 2010. For every step forward it seems like you take 10 steps backwards. Please get it together, Microsoft! Thank You

I'm with everyone else on this.  I have vision issues and cannot deal with any of the color schemes in 365.  Took me almost an hour to set up and 10 minutes to figure out I cannot use it.  MS, feel free to let me know when you come up with something usable!

Just a final note to say that I resolved the theme issue. I uninstalled 2013 and went back to 2010. Wish I can get a refund; this version lasted less than a regrettable hour, I had to go back because come Monday for work, I cannot imagine staring into this glaring and overly bright theme for the entire day in between all the applications and tasking among them.

This is regrettable. The team that decided on releasing this version with this crappy theme wasted everyone's efforts in putting together what is probably a wonderful and awesome upgrade. These nice folks should be reassigned to other lower risk tasks and away from anything to do with product enhancements that are customer facing. They have no clue.
