Other than cropping, I was able to use edit wrap points to edit pictures to get just a portion of the object. How does this work in Publisher 2013?

Unless the freehand shape is an option, the function has not evolved well. **In previous versions, the portion of the image outside of the wrap points was not visible.**This is a function I use daily and will have to find an alternative now.
In addition to JimenezOlga's answer the cropping function in Pub 2013 has evolved.

I agree -- Really doesn't do what is needed in its current form.
This is very discouraging. I have wasted hours on this issue, trying to figure out why I could not get it to work. Now I find that it's a bug in the program that MS has not addressed in 18 months. I wish I had known, I would have found a copy of 2010 and saved myself a lot of grief.
This is so aggravating! I am taking Pubilsher for a class, to fill an elective for school, and I am trying to use the wrap text function to modify a picture for an assignment and cannot. I am being graded on a function that I cannot access, even though my textbook says I can use this function (yes it is for 10 but the instructor said I could use it, and research on the book said it would work fine for my purposes). I was shocked when stumbling on this site trying to find an answer on how to rectify this problem, and found that it has been a year and still no fix or patch or update or ANYTHING! Also there is no freehand draw for shapes as was stated earlier in this blog. When I plug in a shape my only option is to edit shape and choose "edit wrap points" and we are back at the same problem or to change the shape. I wish I didn't choose the new version when RE-PURCHASING this product. For student usage this new version (all around) has been very disappointing.
Yes, you're correct. No fix from Microsoft as of this date for Publisher 2013 re: wrap points. Can you get access to Publisher 2010 (wrap points work there, but shadows do not). I gravitate from one to the other (2010 and 2013) depending upon my need. Also, if you're doing something for print, better to use 2010 that has auto selection for CMYK color (2010 does not- only RGB colors). (If you're using 2010 and need shadows, create them in 2013, save as picture, then insert into your 2010 pub.) Sorry, it IS miserable, and the only way I deal with it, is using both editions. (Don't let Microsoft tell you can't use both -- that it will cause problems -- I have and use both programs resident on your computer -- I NEVER have any problems with it.) They're still nice fast programs, so I still like them and use them almost every day for pubs I need to produce. I think you can pick up a 2010 standalone package boxed fairly reasonably if you try Google shopping or check around. I'm sorry you're having problems. Good luck to you.
