How do I change the color of Strikethrough without changing the color of the text?

Hello,

I have Word 2007. I want to achieve red Strikethrough upon normal black text.

I would be grateful to know how to do this, or if, as I suspect, it is not possible, then I would also be interested to know why Microsoft has not provided this quite obviously needed function.

Crossing something out electronically is a nonsense; period. That the facility is even made available is a questionable use of resources. If you really want to strikethrough in a colour other than the text colour, you must use fields (see http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/Overbar.htm) to overlay your text with struckthrough spaces, and format the spaces in whatever colour you want.

    Why is crossing something out electronically a nonsense? It's very useful if editing a document and you want to highlight that you have edited it.

    Very good reply Ray333. It's always wise to avoid being baited into a conflict with those whose arrogance drives them to attack the questioner when they don't have an answer to the question. Ironically, however, it also reveals their lack of critical thinking ability. I have the question also, and could think of several other reasons why individuals in different professions or educations would find it useful to do so. If you're still interested, or for others who will undoubtedly have the question in the future, I found a couple websites that may be helpful. For a work around it Word <http://word.tips.net/T000344_Changing_Strikethrough_Lines.html> promises to show a work around. The video at <www.youtube.com/watch?v=taUBkX0MzoU>  shows it done in another program I'm not familiar with, but even offers a valid use of the action that I didn't think of, which even your attacker may find interesting.
