Microsoft Office Click-to-Run 2010 (Protected) (Q:)

That is a typical programmer answer to the users;

"You don't know what you want, I know what you want. If you don't understand how to use it, or if you think that it is hard to use, or if you think something could be done in a better way,

then you're wrong. I've made it how it is now, and this is the best way."

Please try to listen to the users. They do not want to see something that they do not use. What is the purpose with having a visible drive in Windows Explorer that NEVER will do anything else than anoying the user?

Yet another reason to use Google docs or Open Office.

The way Andre.Ziegler answers this question makes me more angry than the error it self.

"A programmer is just a tool for the users to get the functions they want."

Please make you and your programmers read litterature about Human-Computer Interaction.

I've got the same situation, and that is the issue, all right.  Only I didn't install or uninstall anything to get it, the drive just popped up without my even using the Office 2010 Trial.  I use Office 2003.

I suppose one could try deleting the drive through Control Panel, but I haven't played with Windows 7 enough to know if you can roll the unused space back into drive C: without some kind of Partition-Magic-like utility.

First, you would be MUCH better served if you started a new question rather than tagging on to a dead discussion.

What has happened is that you downloaded a "Click to run' installation file. MS, in it's infinite wisdom has decided that "it is better" (for them) if you buy an online download of Office, that they will give you (without your knowledge or consent) a virtual installation. A click to run installation. When it "installs", it automatically creates that "Q:" drive. The file that holds the Q: drive has very restricted access.

The only way to get rid of the Q: is to uninstall the associated Office, download and install Office using the "normal"  MSI installation file. Here are instructions on how to do that:

I just removed the Microsoft Office 2010 to reinstall a fresh one because the previous one is a trial and when I click start to use the Microsoft Office, it always load to page 4 of 4 and pop up an error saying that Microsoft Office is unable to start, I decided to remove it and brought to my school so the instructor can install a full version of Microsoft Office 2010 for me. But then inside the My Computer it automatically built up a "drive?" Microsoft Office Click-to-Run 2010 (Protected) (Q:) [doesn't have this drive at new bought]. I couldn't remove this nor using uninstall from the Control Panel. It run the uninstalling but while the process is popped up an error stated that the process cannot be complete. Please contact the Microsoft Product.

Anybody know the solution for this, please I need help.
