Transfer license to a new computer

Hello all,

I just purchased a new computer and want to transfer my Microsoft Office license to the new computer. How do I do that? Can someone send me step-by-step instructions?

The activation process keeps track of number of times you have used a product key. If this is your 4th installation you may get message saying you can't use this product key. Make sure you uninstall from one of the other machines. If it won't allow you to activate, you will have to do a phone activation and tell the service rep that you have uninstalled from one of the previous machines.

    It is more likely to be Office 2010 as that is the Office referred to by the OP.

    If you are talking about Office  365 Personal, YES.

    On the new computer, log in to Myaccount, find the installation on the old computer, click on "Deactivate" beside the computer name, then install on the new computer.

    If you purchased a retail version of Office you can transfer the licence to another computer.  The problem is that you have not said which version of Office you have. You should not really tag onto the end of another persons thread. Often you will go unnoticed.

    I have a personal copy of Microsoft office. I would like to move it to my other computer because the one it's on isn't functioning. Am I allowed to do that.
