Hi,
I've been sent here by John McGhie on the Office for Mac forum. I was told if I ask politely that if Yves has time he may be able to fix the problem for me.
I'm not just asking politely, I'm crawling, begging and offering any services in return.
Basically I have a .docx file, created in word mac 2008. it only contained basic text, but was corrupted when the memory stick it was on wasn't correctly ejected from a friends PC. Now back in a mac I get the start/end tag mismatch error. (also happens
on PCs)
I did manage to unzip the file and edit the xml content to match, but then lost thousands of words. I never managed to repackage it into an openable docx file.
I'm not sure if the way mac osX compresses things is correct for word.
I have uploaded the .docx file here:-

If anything else is needed to fix this, just let me know.
I appreciate that you are probably very busy and don't need the hassle, so if you don't get the chance, it's not the worst thing going on in the world right now, although it will save me a little spot of heartache.
Many thanks for the chance of begging.
Joe
