Good afternoon,
I am an IT Support personnel for an educational organization that utilizes Lenovo ThinkPad Gen 6 laptops running Windows 10 Education version 22H2 as our primary staff devices. Our organization primarily uses Google Chrome as the default web browser and accesses Outlook through the web app.
For about a month now, we have been experiencing a recurring issue where Outlook unexpectedly refreshes for users. This issue only affects some users and appears to be intermittent. When it occurs, it is typically triggered by attempting to open emails with attachments or by creating a new email.
We have found that clearing the cache, cookies, and browsing history temporarily resolves the issue, but after an undetermined amount of time, the problem reoccurs. Reports of this issue are not limited to the campus I support—other campuses within our organization, which use the same devices, equipment, and systems, have also reported the exact same issue.
Below are the troubleshooting steps we have already attempted:
- Cleared cache, cookies, and browsing history (temporarily resolves the issue)
- Restarted the device multiple times
- Used an alternative URL (Outlook.office365.com instead of Outlook.office.com)
- Updated the Google Chrome Browser
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the Google Chrome Browser
- Reset Site Permissions
- Reset Chrome Settings to Default
- Ensured the ThinkPad device itself is up to date
- Re-imaged the ThinkPad device itself
- Attempted using an alternative browser (Microsoft Edge)
Any assistance with resolving this ongoing issue would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if any additional information is needed. Thank you.
