How do I permanently turn off Copilot prompts in my Outlook.com webmail messages?

Can CoPilot help us draft a complaint letter to Microsoft?

Please, fix it so we can turn off this feature. Many of us pay for 365 and pay for the email service and we are not lab rats for you to get data about how well copilot works. We don't want to use it and it's intrusive to ask us if we want copilot with every word we type.

For what it's worth many of us have nothing against AI assistants, and it's great that you are adding features, but you shouldn't get in the way of the normal user experience (like, ummm...typing an email) to sell a new feature. Offering it as a button is great, but these constant prompts are ridiculous and you know it.

A lot of us are having a 'last straw' moment here. Many of us use hotmail because we like how it organizes our emails...but services like gmail don't have any of these petty annoyances and we will ultimately leave hotmail if you can't get it together.

Perhaps Microsoft should ask Copilot how to turn itself off in outlook.com!

I echo all the other responses here: I do not want or need AI help in writing an email. I could turn off Copilot in MS Word--why not in Outlook.com? I use both via a Microsoft 365 subscription.

The prompt "Try Draft with Copilot" is not a suggestion, it is a command as far as the English language is concerned. The subject "You" is understood in this suggestion, and it makes it a complete sentence (without the period, of course; but that seems to be acceptable in contemporary society).

I do not want to try Copilot. I do not want to access Artificial Intelligence. I would like to think on my own and not rely upon an army of robots to direct my conscience.

It is distracting to compose or reply to an email with "Try Draft with Copilot" reappearing after each return (enter) of a paragraph.

I subscribe to Office 365. And I would like the option of declining your invitation to utilize CoPilot in any capacity. I use Word and emails as a fancy typewriter and would like to turn off as many bells and whistles such as thought-prompting and auto-correct. With no offense to others who may prefer the trajectory of computer technology, I would prefer to edit, correct, think and create without the use of artificial intelligence.

Please Microsoft, have your computer technicians -- or an artificial-intelligence equivalent -- remedy this feature for Outlook and Office 365 users.

Jason, thank you for attempting to respond, but the solution to opting out of a "feature" that people don't want shouldn't be to contact Customer Service. This isn't your fault, it's your employer's, but perhaps you should pass these complaints up the chain: lots of people actually enjoy writing things and don't want AI to do it for them (not even if the AI were good at it), and an inexorable invitation to use this "feature" is at best a distraction and at worst a severe annoyance that interferes with getting the writing done at all.

This needs to be something paying customers can opt out of. I understand that Microsoft has a great deal of investment in AI and doesn't want to be left empty-handed the way the company was when it missed the smartphone revolution, but this isn't the way to do it.

I don't want to unsubscribe from Microsoft products--I actually like Microsoft's current products for the most part--but unsubscribing and finding replacements for Office 365 products is ultimately one of the options (and in some cases, e.g. installing OpenOffice, an easier one than dealing with Customer Service). I really hope it doesn't become the choice I'm forced to turn to; like I said, I mostly like Microsoft's products. Copilot has the limitless potential to change my mind on that, I'm afraid.

Same here. I'm ok with it being offerred to me, but i absolutely need a way to turn it off. its not helping me with 99% of messages I send out, and is annoying
