Hello all,

Wondering if anyone at all can help or direct me to get my account sorted.

My account has been suspended due to 'violation of terms of service on Skype.' This is what I received after filling out an account reinstatement form.

This is the email that I received:

We’ve reviewed your appeal and the results are as follows:

Policy violated:   Abuse of our Platform and Services

Microsoft system used:  Skype

Date of appeal:  2024-10-26 18:48:17

Appeal results: Violation confirmed (Decision upheld)

Thank you for your feedback.

Since this I have done numerous forms with the same response and even spoke on the phone with a supervisor from Microsoft that advised I need to wait to hear back from the security team.

I explained to all representatives that I have not used Skype services in well over 10 years and I do not plan in using it ever. However, some of my other accounts have been hacked recently and can only imagine that this one has been affected and is the reason for the account suspension, but they do not seem to be taking this into consideration.

I have also explained that the email/account affected is my Xbox account as well, which has not been able to be used for this month with this issue. I have had this Xbox account for around 15 years and have multiple games that I do not want to lose. As well as literally a week before the account suspension spending £100 on a new game which I cannot even play.

No one seems to be able to help and I hope that someone can shed some light.

Thanks

I completely understand your frustration, as I’m facing a similar situation.

I’ve submitted the appeal forms, but I haven’t received any response so far. I’ve also reached out to online support multiple times, but the feedback has been inconsistent. While some representatives assure me that my case has been "prioritized," there’s been no visible progress. One support agent mentioned the security team would contact me within 24 hours, while another said it could take up to 5 business days—or even longer. My account has been locked for a week now.

What’s especially frustrating is that this issue has locked me out of all other Microsoft services, including OneDrive and Office, which are essential for both personal and professional use.

From what I’ve read, it seems that thousands of users are experiencing similar problems. Surely, there must be a more effective resolution process—or perhaps even a legal avenue to address this widespread issue?

If anyone has advice or has successfully resolved this type of situation, I’d greatly appreciate your input.

    Hey David,

I’m facing the same issue. PLEASE… if you got any update on this case share with us. It’s something unacceptable, unreal and disgusting.

I have my account for over 25 years. Hundred of games, all my VERY IMPORTANT FILES and email from services such as medical stuff and so on.

They really don’t care at all about it, what this kind of situation can impacting people lives.

It’s absolutely disgusting, I appeal three times a week with the same response ‘decision upheld’. Mine got in blocked in November when I got hacked, I have so much work and personal documents on my OneDrive I can not and don’t know what to do for the best.

I spoke with an employee, he filled up the form, and sent it. I asked what is the difference between this form and the appeal that I sent by microsoft , he said this new form is completed by an employee. I will receive the answer next week.

I have the exact same issue.

Someone hacked my account, tried purchasing something from Skype, and I've been blocked for the same reason.

Also now can't access my xbox account which I've had for about 17 years.

Looking at how long you've been waiting is very worrying that there is nothing they can do for an issue that seems to be happening to many people
