Outlook isn't letting me resize an image. Used to click on the pasted image and drag the corner to size. Why make updates that make things more difficult?

UPDATE 09.20.2024

AGAIN, this issue has returned, and the previous work arounds don't work either.

This site is a message board, you need to contact MS directly to get this resolved.

I contacted Support, and they say they can't fix because the issue is on the server, so MS has to fix it.

Go into your Outlook app and select Help >Feedback > Report a Problem.

The problem is: Image sizing handles do not work, and images can no longer be resized when pasted in a message body.

Hoping they get flooded with these reports and the issue is resolved quickly.

SOLUTION 1 (09 20 2024):

Paste image into a MS Word document, where the resizing handles work, size the image then clip & paste it into the message.

SOLUTION 2 (09 20 2024):

I received another work around from Anthony in a post on this board . . .

Clip image >"Save As" onto hard drive> go to Outlook> select Insert>select picture> browse to location image is stored> select image and insert into message> At this point you have 1 chance to size it with the sizing handles, after that the sizing handles no longer work.

SOLUTION:

 Now to resize an image

1. Click to the right in a blank area so the image is NOT selected

2. Hold Shift Key down and then hit the Left Arrow Key and the resize handles will appear

    Sooo... as I said, it was never removed, just some bug.

    I have managed to fix it... I was debugging the app with Edge DevTools, and a .js file was missing...
    I deleted all application data... and now it's working like before !

    However, I had to reconnect my account, so if you have MS accounts, that's not an issue, but for others I cannot say. Probably deinstalling and reinstalling the app would work too. Note that purginf from Dev Tools, it will not impact anything else (like your emails, settings, etc. wil not be affected), just

    You can run the app like this: olk.exe --devtools from the terminal, or from Win+R (run).

    The dev tools will open with the app:

    Got to application -> Storage -> Clear Site Data.

    You can try to remove only the cache and the indexed DB (edit: tested it since it's enough to fix it) first, but I think you'll have to reconnect to your account anyway.

    Restart the App!

    It's a bug.

    The image is on a line, put the cursor to the right and ****+left arrow.

    Other solution, resize in word or another office app.

    Use outlook.com if you have access.

    There are multiple workarounds, see the rest of the thread.

    More adventurous, use Office labs Typescript 😉

    The feature will be back...

    In TYPICAL Mr. Softy "enhancements" = took a SIMPLE operation and made it COMPLICATED- great work! grrrrrr
