Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Confirmed it still is not working here. What version of Outlook and the WebView2 do you have?
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
A very dangerous behavior in the new outlook is that hoving the mouse pointer over a hyperlink in an email no longer displays the actual URL of the link.
Seeing the true URL is the #1 way people can avoid getting email scammed. Removing this tool is inviting people to get defrauded. This should not be a default behavior and I cannot see how to resolve this.

I tried the proposed solution of repairing the EdgeWeb2View component and it still does not provide the URL when I hover over the link. As Ted Bush stated, even if it had, it's not a viable solution to widely deploy. Please advise.
Is this fixing it so that it shows the URL when you hover? Or is it showing an actual preview of the page that the URL points to?
I do not want a preview of the link, I don't want the link being requested at all unless it's specifically clicked on. I just want to see the URL.
I concur, it did not fix it for me.
And even if it had, it's not a viable solution to deploy to all my users across our organization as it requires elevated credentials. And how often would we have to rerun this 'repair' to keep this feature active?
Bah. I don't know why I continue to be astonished by MS' decisions.
