How To Stop The New Outlook From Automatically Installing

I need help please to stop the new outlook from automatically installing and replacing my windows and calendar app. I have uninstalled the new Outlook 4 times today. Every time I launch the old mail and Calendar app the new outlook automatically installs without my permission. It stops me from using the old app. This is very annoying. I don't want the new app. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Your advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Chris

What worked for me was deleting the new Outlook's executable ("olk.exe") from "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.OutlookForWindows".

Once it's gone, it can't forcibly launch anymore when you open Windows Mail.

You first need to take ownership of the "WindowsApps" folder, then after deleting/renaming the .exe, restore the ownership back to "TrustedInstaller" (to prevent any potential issue down the line).

I rather start using another browser and mail service than this stupid new Microsoft Mali. Let them shove it up those created it.

Thank you very much for your reply. Yesterday deleted all the .json files in that folder and the problem still persisted. Today I uninstalled the new outlook, deleted settings.json again and rebooted. Unfortunately this did not solve the problem. Whenever I launch the old Mail app after a few seconds the new Outlook will install without my permission and I have to uninstall it again. Then as soon as I launch "Mail" it happens all over again.

I suspected that deleting "settings.json" was a fix that worked in the past but it does not work anymore.

I will be happy to try any other solutions.

    Kind regards

    Chris

    Hello everyone,

I was facing the same issue with the New Outlook being forced upon me, and I found nothing seemed to work long-term. I also prefer the old Mail app for its 'Focused' and 'Other' sorting features.

To tackle this, I wrote a Python script that automatically uninstalls New Outlook anytime the Mail app is launched or closed, and it even sends uninstall requests at adjustable intervals while the Mail app is open.

It's not the most elegant solution, but it works reliably. If you're in the same boat, feel free to try it out. I've shared the code on GitHub: New Outlook Killer

I hope this helps anyone who's been struggling with this issue!

    Best regards,
    Thepastafarian

All the possible solutions. Posted here are just

temporary fixes. I do have the new : Outlook-Mail app

Like a month ago, still have my - Windows "**Mail and Calendar**"

email program. I was very careful, not to click the

<< SWITCH - Toggle >> but the new - Outlook took over

my older "**Mail and Calendar**' app. Now instead of the blue

envelope appears the new "Outlook icon" Tried a lot of methods

to get back to "Mail and Calendar" Wins Store let me

to reinstall it again. it opens and can see the - Toggle to try on

the "**New outlook**" and the [**Dismiss**] button to reject it

But no matter. if I hit the (Dismiss) button, when

the app is closed. The next time I open it

The new outlook takes over. it acts as virus .. substitute the blue envelope

of the "Mail & Calendar" app - Shows the new outlook icon

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So I decided to post my comment here. I think the only way

to get back to my .. Windows Mail and Calendar - App

is that. Microsoft reconsider to eliminate

the "Mail & Calendar" and the

    classic outlook and let the

    users decide. if switch

    or Not. To new

    outlook
