How do you permanently turn off new outlook?

I don't like it, I don't want it, I am not going to switch to it, and I never want to see it again. For the longest time it would periodically switch to the new outlook, I would turn it off, and submit feedback stating the previous. Now it auto opens every single time. I do not ever want to see the new outlook again for the rest of my life. Do not make me switch to Mac or Linux or whatever because I am petty and will eventually become so disgruntled and delete everything Microsoft and never spend another dime on anything they make over something stupid. I want to know a way to permanently delete the new outlook off my system so it doesn't get to that point.

    1. Settings
    2. Apps
    3. check whether the preferred version (old) is in your default apps
    4. check whether new version of outlook is in your installed apps. If so, delete it. You can see the slight difference in the iconography.

Hi Diane and thank you for getting back to me!

Yes, I use classic that has the file tab on the left and the New Outlook Switch in the upper right which I toggle off every time. I installed both of those keys and was still unable to get the issue resolved.

I notice that in my installed programs list of programs there are two entries for Outlook. One appears to include what looks to be a representation of a "shield" in it, the lower one of the two, and the other one appears to have a "letter" or envelope in it.

Do you know which one is for New Outlook and which one is for Classic? Maybe my issue is that I am using the wrong icon to click on.

    Thanks much!

Do you use classic Outlook (has a File tab on the left) and does it have the New Outlook switch in the upper right? The ffirst key hides that. The second key changes a setting so new outlook wont load when you click the classic icon.
