Hi,

I have a PC with windows 11 and Office 365. I have installed the New Teams on it.
the user cannot create a teams meeting from outlook calendar.

When I looked for the add-in Options>Add-ins, I didnt see the add-in there, not even in the inactive or the disabled.

The add-in is installed when I looked in %AppData\local\microsoft\TeamsMeetingAddin..

I tried to uninstall Teams but again same problem.

I took the plugin from a PC that can launch teams meetings from outlook and put it in the folder of the PC that cant and it worked for a day now its not.

thank you

This is quite pathetic. The New Teams app is great, but it still has a dependency on the old one (classic) being installed.

I don't like the new Outlook but it's clear that I will have to start using it.

When will we have a solution, Microsoft?

I have the same issue, I upgraded the Teams to the new version but I lost the outlook plugin.

so every time I have to install the classic Teams of the home version to get the plugin.

please suggest a solution, as its very important to my organization as its government organization.

    Regards,

Try joining a Teams meeting link using your web browser in incognito mode. You should then see the screen below. I downloaded a working 64bit Teams Classic and it fixed the Outlook add-in issue, for now at least.

I logged that case with Microsoft support and they received confirmation from the product group confirming the scenario I encountered is related to a known issue. They currently have an ETA for fix for mid-January. When I queried what that fix would be (fix for Outlook 'classic', or Teams (work or school)), the answer was:

The Teams meeting add-in comes with the Teams client. The new fix should be coming in a New Teams version.

Same here at my company. We use Outlook Desktop app (version 2018). Uninstalled Teams Classic and installed New Teams today. The Teams meeting option in Outlook's new Appointment window has now disappeared and the AddIn no longer exists in Options>Add-ins (active or disabled). Even after various app restarts. Reverting back to Classic Teams does bring the addin back. We want to use New Teams though, so what can I do?
I even tried taking a copy of the Classic Teams' Microsoft.Teams.MeetingAddin.dll file and then registering this manually using:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\regsvr32.exe /n /i:user "C:\Users\<path to folder>\TeamsMeetingAddin\1.0.23270.2\x64\Microsoft.Teams.AddinLoader.dll"

And again, but trying the x86 path. Both times a message flashed up saying DllInstall succeeded. But alas, opening Outlook again I still can't see the Teams meeting add in option.

(red circle shows where it used to be on the appointment creation window):
